Hindu School of Kentucky

Hindu School of Kentucky is formally founded in 2000 by small group of parent volunteers. Affiliated with and operating under auspices of Hindu Temple of Kentucky (HTKY). Steady growth over past 25 years with highest enrollment of 150 students.Weekly classes held at the HTKY premises in the classrooms and other designated rooms. Our mission is to educate children & youth of our community, on the culture, values & heritage of Hinduism.

2) Dharma (Righteousness) - Grades 6, 7

3) Karuna (Compassion) - Grades 4, 5

4) Vinaya (Good Conduct) - Grades 2, 3

5) Sathya (Truth) - Grades K, 1

About

Founded in early 2000, the Hindu School of KY (HSKY) offers weekly Hindu religion classes for children and youth in the greater Louisville area. HSKY is a volunteer-driven organization that is affiliated to and operates under the auspices of the Hindu Temple of Kentucky, a non-profit organization.

Objectives

To provide a fun, secure learning environment to educate children on Hindu religion through stories, quizzes, Bhajans, Shlokas, yoga, theater production, etc.
To instill Hindu values and develop discipline, embrace identity, build character & self-esteem.
To develop awareness of Hindu culture and traditions by celebrating our Hindu festivals while encouraging students to become involved in temple activities.
To provide students the opportunity for peer interaction and to create friendships.
